A loving person

Every time I visit my MIL, she has a lot of stories to tell. She told me about her last vacation in California. She can still travel alone and she stayed at her sister's place. She visited also her niece and her family. She enjoyed so much her vacation specially their trip to Vegas wherein they got discount hotels Las Vegas promo. She showed me the pictures she took and I enjoyed watching them. Her stories where interesting like a certain museum she visited with great plants in there and the best thing the museum is free entrance. She said the next time she will again have a vacation she will bring me with her. Oh my! what a great idea. MIL is a fun loving person she treat us all in her own sweet way.

New home

My dad will be closing a deal with a real estate agent as soon as the a environmental site assessment is given to him. The land premise still needs to be cleared from potential and existing soil and water contamination. The quality of ground water should also be checked and the possible improvements should be identified. The lot will become the site of our family's new dwelling place. I am much exited to be involved in the designing of the new house. The truth is that I bought architecture and interior design books already. I will start my research after my last trip this month.

Family ties

My dad and I are contemplating about investing on a luxury real estate. It would be a good investment for the whole family. A good place of comfort not only for everyday but most especially during the holidays and family occasions. We are a clannish family where in we consider very relative, to the 6th or even 7th degree of consanguinity, as if an immediate member of the household. That's how close we are. Being one of the eldest in the whole clan, aside from my grand father, it’s my dad's responsibility to gather our relatives especially during the holidays. We love hosting family gatherings and we are sure we can accommodate them all with a bigger and better place. We’ll begin scouting for the best luxury real estate that will fit us all this coming month.

My sis birthday

Yesterday we celebrated my older sister’s birthday thru a family dinner. Me and my mom prepared something special aside form the birthday cake which the kids loved. My dad bought a special wine from the local winery. My sister, the birthday celebrant and her family brought some food also. My younger sister brought home a half gallon ice cream. After dinning, we all went to the living room for coffee except for the kids who went to play computer games. When we all gave her our gifts, my sister was so touched that she went on hugging and kissing us all. We were all surprise to see that three of her gifts (One each from me, my younger sister and my mom) were corsets. It was a funny coincidence! But we all agreed that we are going to talk about our gifts the next time somebody will celebrate his/her birthday. :-)

My work

I consider my work's demand of travelling a lot an opportunity to appreciate everything about life. The stress and tiredness are always compensated with the joy of seeing different places, meeting new people, establishing ties and experiencing new cultures. It’s true that it is putting your life at risk when you travel a lot. But what else is new about it? Everyday of your life gets you also in taking risks anyway. And besides, there's always a good travel insurance available in the market that fits your needs.

Bookworms

Every month, I see to it I have a new book on my bedside table. I also make sure my nephews and nieces have new books to read. Part of encouraging and inspiring them to be bookworms. I wonder if they can build a small library in their h0use bc0z of the many books I gave them. Tomorrow, the kids will come with me at the bookst0re so that they can ch0se the books they want. I don’t worry about the prices of the books they will choose because I have Barnes and Noble coupons. That’s the pleasure of shopping!

The funny t-shirt

I met up with a friend last Tuesday for a cup of coffee after work. I was expecting her to be in her office attire since its a weekday. To my surprise, she was not dressed with those elegant styled attires that she always wear to which according to her excludes and flaunt the people in the advertising industry! Instead, she was wearing a white Spoof t-shirt, faded denims and a pink pair of sneakers. When I asked why the casual attire, she informed me that they have themed dress codes on Tuesdays. And dress code for that day was funny t-shirts. I cant help but to smile to see what was printed in her t-shirt. It says, Sponge bob wet pants with a sponge bob drawing on it. I wonder what did her officemates' shirt said?

What It Means To Be Young

What it means to be young? Have you asked this to yourself already. Many people especial women are afraid of this but with Samuel Ullman inspiring message, we can learn a lot..Youth is not a time of life, it is a state of mind; it is not a matter of rosy cheeks, red lips, and supple knees; it is a matter of the will, a quality of the imagination, a vigor of the emotions; it is the freshness of the deep springs of life.Youth means the predominance of courage over timidity, of adventure over the love of ease. This often exists in a man of sixty more than in a boy of twenty. Nobody grows old merely by a number of years. We grow old by deserting our ideals. Years may wrinkle the skin, but to give up enthusiasm wrinkles the soul. Worry, doubt, self-distrust, fear and despair - these bow the heart and turns the spirit back to dust.Whether sixty or sixteen, there is in every human being's heart the love of wonder, the sweet amazement at the stars and the starlike things, the undaunted challenge of events, the unfailing child-like appetite for what-next, and the joy of the game of living.You are as young as your faith, as old as your doubt;as young as your self-confidence, as old as your fear;
as young as your hope, as old as your despair.

The time

My day was very hectic and I need more time. How come time is too fast if only we can stop it for a while. I remember this inspiring thoughts I read.Time is one of the few things we cannot stop. We can stop all the clocks in our home, we can refuse to wear a watch, we can throw out all the calendars, however, time will continue to tick by.Time is precious, yet too often we do not use it to our advantage. Nor do we appreciate it. Time cannot be captured and kept until we need it. It is today, this moment. Yesterday is long gone, and there are no guarantees we will see tomorrow. Today is what we have and how we use it determines our appreciation of time.

Fiftyflowers.com

This month is a very busy one for all us since its already the wedding preparation to be held next month. My SIL will wed her long time high school boyfriend and everyone are excited as well as in stress. They have a wedding planner who take everything but we still extend our help. Lately SIL asked me if I know some flower shops that offer great service at an affortable price. The one being suggested by the wedding planner was quiet expensive. Good thing I remember the flower shop which cater on my friend's wedding last year. The shop offer wholesale flowers wherein this fresh cut flowers came from the flower farms of Ecuador and freshly delivered rightly on your door steps through FEDEX. They offer different varities such as roses, calla lilies, rose petals, gerbera daisies, hydrangeas, peonies and many other flowers and greens. Aside from wedding flowers they also accept orders in variety of bulk flowers for all occasions, including premium bouquets, table arrangements and centerpieces. With their almost ten years in service they are already trusted by their customers such as in restaurants, events, gala and hotels.

Lazy me

I am feeling lazy over the past week and I cant get out of it. I told my friend about it and his advice goes this way. You know the story of the hare and the tortoise. After racing and attaining the lead in the race the hare slept. He thought that I am well ahead so let me rest a while. He got stuck up in the sleep. In the meanwhile the slow moving tortoise overtook the hare and won the race as the hare was still sleeping.
Our life teaches us not to get stuck up in the comfort zone!

hear the music

I have read my email today and what inspired me is the forwarded email from a friend entitled Hear the Music. Just me let share you the first and last of it and think about it.

Too many people put off something that brings them joy just because they haven't thought about it, don't have it on their schedule, didn't know it was coming or are too rigid to depart from their routine.

When you worry and hurry through your day, it is like an unopened gift... Thrown away... Life is not a race. Take it slower. Hear the music before the song is over.

Know your trash

They are strict here with separating their trash. They have a bin for everything glass, paper, wrappers, food leftovers, and a small one for everything else. Those who fail to categorize their waste in colored containers risk being socially shunned as enemies of the environment and can even earn themselves a municipal fine.

Possible Mass Grave

In the news here today that construction has been stopped on a site, where at least 36 human skeletons have been found over the past week which are considered as 100 years old. The bodies may have been forced laborers in a World War II factory. The police said the skeletons were thought to be at least 50 and at most 100 years old.

Another computer in the house

My younger sister who got herself a brand new portable laptop computer was asking me earlier if she can also access the internet using my DSL connection. Being a self- proclaimed internet technician, I tried connecting her laptop with another Cat5Ecable wire, just like my PC connection. And it worked! Now, we are two in the house who will be staying up until the wee hours in the m0rning. Also, we expect a higher electricity bill starting this month! Ha-ha!
