Even though there are negative social issues on gambling and more rigid laws that govern the gambling industry, nobody can stop the fast growth of the industry. To this date many people got jobs because of gambling and the government had generated more tax revenues through it. As for the lottery, income produced was donated to charity work. And as gambling entered the web, more and more social issues popped out as well as jobs, charity funds and taxes. So we can not really say that gambling is all bad.
